Sport climbing has become increasingly widespread in recent years, making this activity accessible to a much broader audience. Indoor climbing (in a gym, on a climbing wall) or on artificial structures (indoor or outdoor) is now very common, but it remains quite different from climbing in a natural environment, which requires a certain level of autonomy from climbers.
Who is it for?
Many climbing enthusiasts want to take on the Verdon’s iconic vertical cliffs. A lack of autonomy and the fear of attempting a route that is too difficult can sometimes hold back intermediate climbers who wish to discover the legendary climbing spots of the Verdon Gorges. Being accompanied and supervised by state-certified instructors removes that pressure and allows you to enjoy climbing safely and in good conditions. In addition, the equipment required to be a fully autonomous climber can sometimes be restrictive, and this logistical burden is greatly reduced when you hire a qualified instructor who provides the climbing gear.
Where is it?
The climbing sites of the Verdon Gorges, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department, offer a wide choice of sectors for all grade levels, in spectacular natural settings. Climbing takes place across a vast adventure terrain: in the Verdon Grand Canyon, between Lake Sainte-Croix and the village of La Palud-sur-Verdon, passing by Chalet de La Maline; in the Alpes-Maritimes near the village of Saint-Auban; and on the sandstone cliffs of Annot. We offer introductory and advanced climbing sessions, whether to discover the activity or to improve your skills, supervised by a state-certified instructor.
The routes offered are well bolted (with bolts or hangers), and each sector has something for everyone: single-pitch climbs ranging from 10–15 meters to 30–35 meters high, across all difficulty levels, on exceptional-quality limestone.

Complete description of the half-day climbing activity:
You will meet your instructor at a meeting point that will be communicated to you when you book your climbing session, depending on the time slot and sector chosen. You will go to the activity's starting parking lot, then take a short, easy approach walk along a trail to reach the climbing sector.
Your instructor will provide you with all climbing equipment specific to the activity: climbing shoes, helmet, harness, quickdraws, ropes, belay device, carabiner, and descender, chalk. You should bring a pair of trainers (especially for the approach walk), sportswear (clothes you feel comfortable in), a bottle of water, and a light snack (cereal bars, dried fruit, biscuits, etc.).
Your certified instructor will perform the necessary rope handling to allow you to climb on rappel or lead, safely. With the sector's guidebook in hand, you can together choose which climbing route to tackle, based on your climbing level. Belay techniques will also be explained to you so you can understand the activity as a whole: climbing is not done alone—there is a climber and a belayer.
Your instructor can also help you by giving you advice on technique, allowing you to progress on the route.
During this outdoor activity, you may have the chance to encounter rich and varied wildlife, including some rare and protected species like vultures, which like to soar above the vertiginous cliffs of this natural park, ideal for their nesting.
Our primary goal is your safety, and our main desire is to share our passion for outdoor activities with you, for an unforgettable day full of thrills in our natural park and beautiful region, an ideal playground for rock climbing practice.
To achieve this, it is important that we can discuss our activities before taking a booking, so we can offer you a session tailored to your level, your wishes, and your geographic area. It is not possible to book directly through our website, and this is intentional on our part, to allow us to exchange with you and guide you to a climbing spot suited to your needs.
You are about to experience something; you are not buying a product. That is our vision, and it is in this spirit that we wish to propose a program that suits you!
