Full activity description – Via Ferrata / Via Cordata of the Grand Canyon of the Verdon

You will meet your certified instructor in the center of La Palud-sur-Verdon, a charming village located in the heart of the Verdon and its Regional Natural Park. It is about 40 minutes from Castellane (via the D952 road towards Moustiers-Sainte-Marie), a well-known base for outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, rafting, canyoning, and swimming in the lakes.

After meeting your guide, you will follow them with your own vehicle for a few kilometers to the starting parking area of the via cordata.

Your instructor will provide all the necessary equipment for the activity (harness equipped with lanyards and automatic carabiners, helmet). You should bring sports shoes, comfortable sports clothing, a small backpack, and a bottle of water.

The activity begins with a short downhill walk of about 10 minutes. Once at the start of the route, your guide will give full safety instructions to ensure you enjoy this exciting half-day experience in complete safety.

For approximately 2 hours, you will move through a spectacular natural setting, enjoying one of the most beautiful views over the Verdon Gorges and the Grand Canyon. The route alternates between:

  • airy walking sections, always secured to a lifeline fixed to the cliff
  • fun rope-based workshops (zip line, abseiling, “Tarzan” jumps, free-fall-style activities, etc.)
  • exposed traverses along the cliffside

Fully secured from start to finish, this route requires no particular technical skills or strength, making it accessible to everyone.

However, it is a very aerial experience (between 150 and 200 meters above the canyon), meaning participants must be comfortable with heights. People suffering from severe vertigo (panic fear of heights) are advised to choose less exposed activities.

For those looking for a longer and more sporty experience, you can also discover our “Grande Aventure” via cordata.

For a full-day experience, this via cordata can be combined with a half-day canyoning trip in the Haut Jabron canyon. This combined day (via cordata + canyoning) is accessible to all and promises unforgettable memories.
